Brown, Deputy State Epidemiologist/State Public Health Veterinarian and Larry Dapsis, Deer Tick Program Coordinator and Entomologist for Cape Cod Cooperative Extension in Barnstable, MA, will discuss ticks, disease, and protection. The talk will cover the different types of ticks and their life span, the signs and symptoms of Lyme disease, the role pets can play in transmission of tick-borne illnesses, and prevention strategies to minimize the risk of exposure to these dreaded arachnids.
