Ask anyone about Christa McAuliffe and they will tell you exactly where they were when the Challenger shuttle launched; however, few people understand who Mrs. McAuliffe really was. American’s Teacher in Space was an educational pioneer and her goals and accomplishments are explored in this multi-media performance experience, which debuted in 2016 in honor of the 30th Anniversary of the challenger launch.
Kalaora, Founder and Artistic Director of History at Play, has garnered nationwide attention for her one-woman, living history performances, chronicling the lives of legendary women. Her performances have received accolades from journalists, actors, and historians alike and have earned statewide and national recognition, as CHALLENGER: Soaring with Christa was honored by the Massachusetts Senate and House of Representatives, and is produced with the support and approval of both the McAuliffe and Corrigan Families. This family-friendly program is suitable for anyone grades 1 and up.
