Author Talk: Jane Healey
Saturday, October 52:30—3:30 PMStewart RoomWilmington Memorial Library175 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, MA, 01887
Jane Healey’s novel, The Saturday Evening Girls Club, is based on the true story of a group of Italian and Jewish immigrant women in Boston’s North End at the turn of the 20th century. In her talk, she will discuss how she first learned of the Club when writing an article about the Club’s highly collectible pottery for Boston Home magazine. She’ll also discuss the history of this incredibly inspiring women’s club, and how she created a fictional narrative about four friends and SEG club members - Caprice, Ada, Thea and Maria - based on that history. Book signing and sales to follow talk. Presented in partnership with the Wilmington Sons of Italy.
